On a check around the garden this evening counted at least 50 silver Y's. Mostly nectaring on the Buddleia and other plants, but also a constant stream passing through the garden. It has been like this for several evenings and I dont think I have ever seen this many Silver Y's before. Over the last week I have rescued several from inside the house and greenhouse and also had one get trapped inside the car which set off the alarm at 2.00am!! It must have flown right in front of the motion detector.

The progress of colonisation continues with my first record of Cypress Carpet. I was unable to photograph it as the moth flew before I could pot it. With recent records from Weston it is likely that Cypress Carpet has recently colonised North Somerset so hopefully I can expect to encounter it again.
